LIFE  IS  GREAT

You may not feel as positive as this title suggests.

The world around with its wars and strife,

its suffering and injustice is anything but great.

You are beset with financial debts,

familial difficulties, physical diseases,

emotional imbalance, intellectual insufficiency

and spiritual emptiness.

You grope for meaning and purpose in life.

Your search may take you to the limits of time and ends of space,

to the depths of knowledge and heights of mountains.

But answers elude you, darkness engulfs you.

Your circumstances continue to be negative.

But, whatever be your circumstances,

if you read on, you will discover why

Life is Great.

We will read from the world's best selling book --

The Bible --which simply means, The Book.

People from all belief back grounds, all over the world, turn to the Bible

(at least parts of which are available in 2000 languages) to find satisfying answers to life's deepest questions and problems.

God created them all

God sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. He brings princes to naught, and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than He blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff. 'To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?' says the Holy One. Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
(Isaiah40:22-26)

Faith helps us know God

Now faith is being sure of what we hoped for and certain of what we do not see. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

 (Hebrews 11:1,6)

God is like a Father

There is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live.

(1Corinthians 8:6)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles.

(2 Corinthians 1:3)

Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those ask Him!

(Matthew 7:9-11)

God loves us

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

(John 3:16)

We can know God through Jesus Christ

He [Christ] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible.

(Colossians 1:15-16)

The Son is the radiance of God৬ory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

(Hebrews 1:3)

For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all men.

(1Timothy 2:5-6)

Jesus has authority over nature

One day Jesus.. [and] disciples.. got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke him, saying, ᳴er, Master, we're going to drown 襠got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves; the storm subsided, and all was calm. 襲e is your faith?襠asked His disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, 诠is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.쯳pan>

(Luke 8:22-25)

Jesus has authority over the supernatural

They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach. The people were amazed at his teaching, because He taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law. Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out, 衴 do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!" "Be quiet!" said Jesus sternly. "Come out of him!䨥 evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek. The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, 衴 is this? A new teachingwith authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits, and they obey him.㰡n style="mso-spacerun: yes">

(Mark 1:21-27)

Jesus forgives our sins

Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat ay him before Jesus. When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat  the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. When Jesus saw their faith, he said, ⩥nd, your sins are forgiven.頳tyle="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"> The Pharisees and the teachers of law began thinking to themselves, 诠is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?頳tyle="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"> Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, 蹠are you thinking these things in your hearts?崠that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins襠said to the paralyzed man, 튠 tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.쩠style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"> Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, 堨ave seen remarkable things today.쯳pan>

(Luke 5:18-22,24-26)

(John 14:6)

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

(Acts 4:12)

Jesus died for us
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

(1 Peter 2:24)

Jesus conquered death and lives today

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their freight the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, 'Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: "The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.㰡n style="mso-spacerun: yes">

(Luke 24:1-7)

Jesus grants us financial deliverance

So do not worry, saying, 衴 shall we eat?ﲍ 衴 shall we drink? Or What shall we wear?毲 pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

(Matthew 6:31-34)

Jesus grants familial blessings

(Mark 16:17-18)

Jesus grants emotional healing

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me塣e I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

(John 14:1; 14:27)

To all who received Him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--childrenﲮ of God.

A Suggested Prayer

Dear God the Father,

I admit that my life is not what it should be.
I have sinned and need your forgiveness.
I want to turn from my sin.

I believe that Jesus bore my sins on the Cross and paid the penalty for my sin by dying in place of me.
I accept Jesus as my personal Savior and Lord.
I open my heart to Jesus and invite Him into my heart and life.

I shall follow and obey Jesus as the Lord of my life from now on .
